Rox’s Secret Code
An empowering picture book and AR game that inspires kids to code.

Secret Code is a picture book and companion AR app that inspires girls to code. Our goal is to close the gender gap in STEM and create more diversity in tech.

The story is about a tech-savvy girl who, instead of cleaning up her mess, codes a robot to do it for her. But the story is about more than technology. It touches on themes of bravery, curiosity and leadership – values that are ubiquitous to a fulfilling future.

Rox’s Secret Coding Game

At the end of the book, the story isn't over. Turning inspiration into action, you can download our app that lets kids customize their own robots and learn coding principles.

There are some of the amazing robot creations you can make.

Make YOUR girl the hero.

Secret Code started out as a customizable book, so that any girl could look up to a role model that looks just like her. On our site, you personalize her name, skin color, hair color/style and eye color. So the hero looks just like the girl you want to inspire.

Parent Customization

Mixed race parents, same sex parents, and single parents are common in the real world, but nonexistent in children's books. By letting people customize parents, any family could see themselves in Secret Code – making it the most inclusive children's book, ever.

#BreakStereotypes

We launched Secret Code with a video that inspired parents to teach their girls to #BreakStereotypes so they'll grow to be unstoppable.

The best part about writing Secret Code has been hearing directly from parents and fans. Kids who want to read it over and over again. Girls who start playing robot instead of princess. Kids who dress up as Rox.

Secret Code launched nationwide in November 2018 from our publisher powerHouse Books. Order your copy today!
